This weekend I woke up feeling like I wanted to do something fun, relaxing, and low commitment. So of course, I dragged M (the boyfriend) to IKEA! It’s a great place to go if you’re bored, hungry, or just want to get out of the house.
If you have been following me for a while, you probably saw our last IKEA date. If you’re new, welcome to the blog and thanks for stopping by. 😊
1. The FOOD
I am a huge fan of IKEA’s Swedish meatballs (what they’re known for), but did you know they serve breakfast too? It’s super affordable (our food total was less than $10) and it’s a nice brunch spot to go with friends or with the boo. They have American breakfast staples like sausage and scrambled eggs, but also other treats like pancakes and cute heart shaped waffles.
2. Window Shopping at Its Best
If you aren’t looking to buy furniture, it’s still fun to window shop. IKEA has areas and rooms decorated and curated using their products. In a way it’s like an art museum. You get to see different room designs and it’s so easy to follow the path as it guides you along the whole store.
3. Snacks and Goodies
IKEA has many delicious drinks, cookies, and snacks (many of which are specific to their store). I recommend trying out their lingonberry jam and juice if you are looking for something new. If you want some sweet, go for their cinnamon buns! <3 Usually I walk into IKEA with the intention of getting just ONE thing and end up with a bag of meatballs, lingonberry juice, sparkling pear juice, and a random urge to buy furniture for space I don’t have. Luckily this time I escaped…with just a frozen yogurt cone! It’s super refreshing, especially on a hot day and was a fun way to end our little trip.
I didn’t get their Swedish meatballs this time, but it’s only because I already had two bags at home from a previous trip. I ended up making some delicious spaghetti and meatballs with them. If you’re a fellow foodie, check out my food adventures. You won’t be disappointed (but you might end up hungry after)! 😊
Thanks for reading!
I hope you enjoyed this little snapshot of our day. IKEA is awesome and I love that the store experience has something for everyone. I went on a weekend, but if you can, I recommend going on a weekday to avoid crowds. There’s less people and you have more of the place to yourself. Where do you like to go for a relaxing date? Let me know in the comments!
Don’t forget to show love if you liked this post. <3
Until next time,
