What do you do when you’re a homebody with a best friend that loves going out to concerts? You brace yourself, put on a cute outfit, and you go out.
Dinner and Dessert at Gran Caffe L’Aquila
Although I have a foodie’s soul, I haven’t been eating out as much due to a busy schedule and cooking more lately. So yes, I will admit it, I do like the excuse to eat out. Lara was craving pasta and I was in the mood for something new so we decided to try Gran Caffe L’Aquila. I would recommend calling for a reservation beforehand as their dining areas require that, but if you are going on your own or with a smaller party, they offer bar seating (you can still order the full menu there).
The food was DELICIOUS *cue heavenly music*. We ended up ordering the same dish, the Carbonara with Italian Bacon Gelato (dessert and entrée in one). The café is known for their award-winning gelato, so we ended up getting this savory gelato and pasta dish. I think of gelato as dessert and have never tried it with pasta, but I’m glad we did!
Of course, we also had to finish up the meal with actual dessert and helped ourselves to some delicious gelato.
After dinner, we went to a concert! I am not really a concert person, but it was fun going to something different with my friend Lara. Let’s be honest, if not for my friends and family I would miss out on so many interesting experiences. We went to an Alessia Cara concert and it was such a fun experience! Alessia is a great performer and she sounds amazing live (exactly the same as in her music videos). Her song October and her performance of How Far I’ll Go (from Moana) are my favorites. Ryland James was the opening act and his performance was great too.
