I have been seeing this trend everywhere on social media. It looks great but I am not a fan of coffee so I decided to experiment with a matcha version!🍃 Matcha lovers, this is for you!
- Matcha Powder
- Heavy Cream
- I mixed sugar, matcha powder, and whipped cream together. Matcha has a strong taste so I suggest adding a ½ teaspoon first and gradually add more based on your preference.
- Mix it using a whisk or an electric whisk until it thickens and looks like a light whipped cream consistency.
- Add milk and ice to a glass and scoop as much matcha mix on top as you would like!
- Stir the mixture a bit (not too much that the matcha cream becomes completely mixed) and enjoy!
I didn’t include ratios or exact measurements because I started with a little amount of everything and gradually added more matcha, sugar, etc. based on taste. All in all, I would consider this experiment a success! The drink was delicious and has a light, creamy consistency. This is a drink I know I’m going to make often!
🥥Non-Dairy & Other Options
I shared this recipe on my Instagram and some of you guys reached out asking for other options for ingredients and diets. I haven’t tried it yet but if you are looking for a non-dairy option, I would consider switching the milk for coconut milk (or any kind of non-dairy milk) and the heavy cream for coconut cream. I am also experimenting with fruity alternatives and will share how that goes soon!
