I’ve wanted to try NastyGal‘s clothes for awhile and finally worked up the courage to try them. 😊
NastyGal is an online clothing shop based in the UK. Usually their clothes are priced around $20+, but I used a coupon code which gave me 60% off and free shipping (your girl is on a budget).
This top is adorable. My concern with shopping online and buying white clothes is that the fabric will be see-through. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case here. The material is opaque enough that you can get away with wearing more than just nude colored undergarments yet light enough that you won’t be overheated. It’s a great top for transitioning from summer to fall. It was originally $16 and I got it for $6.40.
The skirt looks just as shown on the website. The fabric is a nice, thick material. I was surprised because the skirt really is great. Unfortunately, I’m returning it because it just isn’t my style. I tend to pick items that aren’t my style to experiment and see if it’s something I might end up liking. This skirt was originally $24 but with my code, the skirt ended up being $9.60.
I have been obsessed with the colors orange and yellow lately. I might be having a case of fall fever as I’ve noticed all the stores are already selling Halloween décor and candy. This cropped sweatshirt is incredibly soft and light but it’s a bit too short for my taste so I’ll be pairing it with high-waisted jeans and skirts. The sleeves are also too long for me (hence, my lack of hands here). Kind of impractical? Yeah. Cute? Absolutely. The top was $30 but your girl got it for $12.
*cues Red by Taylor Swift* This sweater gives me total fall vibes. I am currently sweating in this 90 degree heat, but my heart has already fast forwarded to autumn. The sweater is a tad out of my comfort zone because of the unique neckline. I haven’t decided yet if the neckline detail is more fashion forward or clown-like. The fit is great but the fabric is scratchy making it unwearable. The top was $20 and I got it for $8.
I like how creative NastyGal is in naming their pieces; it brings in a different element of fun to their outfits. This dress is cute but it didn’t fit me so I am returning it. It was too tight for comfort (I got it in my usual size small). I included a close-up of this one because the fabric was strange; there was no stretch to it and it was scratchy. The dress was $20 but with the code, it was $8.
This set was true to size but the material was uncomfortable. It isn’t soft as I expected for a lounge set; it was stiff. I like sets because they save you the hassle of coming up with an outfit yourself. However, you could definitely mix and match both of these pieces individually with other tops and bottoms for more different looks. This was originally $30 and my discounted price was $12.
I love this belt! It goes with everything. It’s a simple, staple piece. It was too long for me, so I had to cut it down (M helped me out with this). It isn’t real leather and it is made of a nice, thick material so it doesn’t feel or look cheap. The belt was originally $16, but with my code it was $6.40.
The shipping was great (they offered free site wide shipping). All the items were shipped together and arrived within one week. I had no issues using their website to track my package. Also, if you live in the US, NastyGal offers free online returns if you’re concerned about not liking items you picked out. Unlike other websites, you don’t have to pay to ship the items back.
However, a red flag for me is that the site doesn’t list reviews for their items. I never make a purchase from a new, online clothing store without reading reviews, but I did this time because their policy offers free returns.
NastyGal – Is it worth it?
I am returning some of the items due to fit issues and the fabric. The material for several items are stiff and rough (clothes need to be cute AND comfy). I think at full price ($20-30+), the clothes should be made of better material to be worth the usual price tag. Overall, the purchase was worth it because the few items I did like were great, however I probably wouldn’t buy from the site again without a sale or another discount code.
I had a lot of fun with this post and I hope this was helpful to you in deciding whether to try NastyGal. Which pieces were your favorites? Let me know in the comments!
