I’ve been craving salmon and lucky for us, there was a deal on it at our local supermarket (yay). A few weeks ago, M and I picked up a new sauce to try out. The sauce comes premade in a sealed package with instructions on the back of the packaging and we followed that. They were easy to follow. The only change we made was increasing the temperature of the oven to 400 degrees for 15 minutes rather than 350 degrees at 20-25 minutes listed on the package to speed things up a bit. We also added more dill on top of the salmon. We oven-baked the salmon and paired it with boiled French beans and homemade mashed potatoes.
The overall dinner was delicious. The sauce had a slightly sour yet refreshing, citrus taste. I was slightly disappointed with it because I expected it to taste more flavorful and savory. It was good; it just wasn’t that exciting. M and I have another oven-baked salmon recipe that I think tastes better using mayonnaise, chicken seasoning (it works wonders – trust me), and dill. Compared to that, this sauce was lacking. Still, I’m glad we tried it! I love fried foods, but baked foods make me feel less heavy and greasy afterwards.
